It is essential to ensure respect and build trust between stakeholders, establish solid relationships, foster cooperation, and close a deal. However, navigating cultural diversity is much deeper than the cultural awareness gained by a person who has lived abroad or traveled extensively can imagine.
Human Rights Abuses In Business
More than ever, companies are scrutinized for corporate accountability failures and abuses. Increasing pressure is coming from international courts and States, as well as from civil society and the unforgiving public opinion, which, in the age of social media, can quickly “cancel” a business. There is no way out for executives but to urgently take a leadership role in protecting human rights.
In a journey of such diverse experiences, it is tough to choose which pieces can better showcase my work. So, I selected a few and added what some people I worked with had to say about them. I often joke that I could also have been a terrific detective, as research and investigation have always been a vital part of my work since day one.
